Arrival by Cruise 

If departing Madeira the same day as your arrival some passengers opt for the below tour. The reason for this is less time driving and more time at each location without being too far away from Funchal during the tour. The Itinerary:

• Jesus Christ statue, clifftop viewpoint, cafe, cable car to a rocky beach

• Monte, situated 500m above Funchal, here you have the iconic Toboggan and Church ( toboggan is €30 for two people)

• Pico dos Barcelos, Funchal panoramic viewpoint & cafe

• Top of nuns valley, 'Eira do Serrado' viewpoint at an elevation of 1095m looking into the heart of the island; nicknamed the 'valley of the nuns'  as its said when pirates attacked Funchal the nuns would flee here for refuge 

• Cabo girao,  580m glass floor lookout platform situated on the cliff edge

• Câmara de lobos, the traditional fishing village dotted with restaurants and poncha bars, here most people opt to have their lunch.
